NEC Australia, a leading IT solutions and services company, has announced the availability of the SL2100 Smart Communications System for Australia, designed to simplify communications and boost repeat business for small and medium-sized (SMB) businesses.

The NEC SL2100 Smart Communications System is the newest and most advanced SMB communications platform that offers wide-ranging support for Voice over IP (VoIP), mobility and Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) features, offering businesses across all industries an ultra-reliable yet flexible platform to ensure today’s workforce can continue to meet the immediate demands and expectations of all customers.

The SL2100 supports staff in businesses across all verticals, whether they’re working from an office, at home, or on the move, by ensuring support teams have responsive communications tools at their fingertips to meet these customer expectations and builds on the strengths of NEC’s SL1100 communications platform with design focused on boosting repeat business.

“Delivering a personal and seamless customer experience is a must for the modern business who are looking for a competitive edge,” said Andy Hurt, Director of Sales and Solutions for NEC Australia.

In addition to supporting IP capable desktop handsets extending typical office voice features to remote workers, the SL2100 platform also offers web based applications supporting call management, video-conferencing, collaboration, document-sharing, presence, instant messaging and more.

NEC has also delivered enhanced security features in the SL2100 to address the threat of toll fraud, where unauthorised use of a phone system results in fraudulent calls being charged to the customer’s account.

“Aside from ensuring that we continue to offer a high value communications solution with enhanced built-in capability, we’ve also addressed typical IT security related challenges faced by small business by offering active toll fraud monitoring and cloud based software updates ensuring our customers are always protected against the growing threat of cyber based crime,” said Mr Hurt.
