Apple CEO Not Affected by Amazon Kindle Fire’s Success

Amazon’s flagship tablet device Kindle Fire may have created quite some buzz in the global tablet arena, but if we are to believe Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook, the iPad maker is not bothered by the Kindle Fire’s success.

Amazon entered the Apple dominated unipolar tablet market a couple of months back – and thanks to impressive features and a really affordable price tag – the product is climbing up the ladder really fast in terms of popularity and market share.
 
Its important to note here that Amazon made available the product for only $199 – less than half the iPad 2’s entry level price which stands at $499. And experts are of the opinion that the price factor played a rather decisive part in Kindle Fire’s immense success during the last quarter of 2011.
 
“I think people really want to do multiple things with their tablets.We don’t really see these limited function tablets and e-readers being in same category. In terms of competitiveness, the ecosystem for iPad is in a class by itself,” the Apple CEO stated
