stc Group, a leading digital enabler and Ericsson have achieved a groundbreaking milestone, deploying the world’s first implementation of Automated Radio Resource Partitioning (RRP) on a 5G standalone network slice.

Automated RRP is a cutting-edge software feature, based on intent-based automation, that involves the dynamic and intelligent allocation of radio resources to different configured slices to optimize network performance.

Automated RRP empowers stc Group to gear up for 5G Advanced by creating a high-performance, programmable network. By setting specific targets for throughput, latency, and availability, stc Group ensures the network automatically meets these goals through efficient resource allocation.

This innovative Automated RRP software is a part of Ericsson’s 5G Advanced offerings, enabling scalability and delivering new services with secure user experiences.

The demonstration took place in a live network environment with a select group of users, leveraging stc Group’s dual-mode 5G Core, Radio and Transport products provided by Ericsson, along with the new Automated RRP software feature.

The successful implementation of the new software will allow stc Group to transition into a high-performing, programmable network powered by 5G Advanced. It will also simplify operations, underscoring the Group’s commitment to pioneering advancements in the telecommunications industry.
