Cloud and Edge Networks Accelerated by Optical Links

The synergy between centralized data centers and decentralized edge nodes is critical for the next wave of digital transformation. By utilizing high-capacity optical links, operators are achieving the ultra-low latency and massive data transfer speeds required to support real-time applications and seamless global connectivity across diverse industries.

Optical Sensing Technologies Advancing Smart Networks

The integration of sophisticated sensors into the global fiber optic footprint is turning passive cables into an active, intelligent nervous system. These optical sensing technologies provide real-time monitoring of physical environments, enhancing the security and efficiency of smart networks while offering a scalable solution for modern telecom infrastructure health.

High Speed Data Centers Leveraging Optical Interconnects

The rapid expansion of cloud computing and artificial intelligence has pushed traditional data center architectures to their physical limits. By replacing copper-based connections with high-performance optical interconnects, modern facilities are achieving the throughput and efficiency required to handle massive workloads while maintaining the scalability necessary for future enterprise IT growth.

Bridge Alliance, a collaboration of top mobile operators across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, has extended its partnership with Aeris Communications, Inc., a global cellular internet of things (IoT) platform and solution firm. The expansion brings the world’s first fully integrated cellular IoT security solution to Asia-Pacific (APAC) enterprises.

In a statement, Bridge Alliance revealed the partnership to provide Aeris IoT Watchtowerโ€”an agentless and frictionless security solution that provides end-to-end visibility into cyber threats related to IoT. The solution also provides enterprises with the tools to avoid and contain security breaches.

The move is a continuation of a previous partnership by which Aeris provides Bridge Alliance Member Operators (BMOs) with cellular IoT connectivity management services via the Aeris IoT Accelerator (IoTA) platform.

Businesses are facing growing difficulty in safeguarding extensive cellular IoT deployments, as cyberattacks against IoT devices have risen dramatically. A recent study by Forrester shows that business cyberattacks are now principally aimed at IoT devices integrated into enterprise infrastructure.

In spite of this trend, most IoT connectivity solutions today fail to provide the end-to-end visibility and control needed to detect and deter such threats. Industries like automotive and utilities, on the other hand, are hastening the deployment of cellular IoT to develop new revenue streams and enhance operational efficiency.

The world has 1.1 billion cellular IoT devices that are connected, with a projected rate of 16 percent CAGR over the next three years, according to reports. Asia-Pacific alone has 170 million of the connections, a number that is expected to almost double by the year 2030.

With this new partnership, Bridge Alliance and Aeris look to bridge the security gap by extending the cellular IoT security solution to APAC enterprises. Aeris IoT Watchtower has two main componentsโ€””Awareness” and “Enforcement”โ€”to equip enterprises with quicker security breach detection and less disruption of operations.

In addition to protection, the solution delivers continuous risk assessments and device insights, aiding regulatory compliance and boosting efficiency. Already operational in Europe and the U.S., Aeris IoT Watchtower is now being introduced to the Asia-Pacific market in partnership with Bridge Alliance.

โ€œThe commercial launch of Aeris IoT Watchtower in Asia-Pacific for our BMOs and their customers is a milestone in enhancing security for the IoTA platform, and will boost security and regulatory compliance for enterprise IoT deployments and offer advanced network visibility to meet cybersecurity needs,

โ€œWe look forward to extending Watchtower into more APAC markets in the coming months,โ€ said Dr. Ong Geok Chwee, Chief Executive Officer of Bridge Alliance.

โ€œAeris IoT Watchtower offers real-time protection with zero friction. Forget agents, special SIM cards, or complex rerouting,

โ€œWe provide enterprises complete visibility into their cellular IoT security risks and the ability to neutralize threats before they impact operations, all seamlessly built into their existing cellular data path,โ€ said Mark Cratsenburg, Chief Commercial Officer for the IoT Business Unit at Aeris.
