Cloud and Edge Networks Accelerated by Optical Links

The synergy between centralized data centers and decentralized edge nodes is critical for the next wave of digital transformation. By utilizing high-capacity optical links, operators are achieving the ultra-low latency and massive data transfer speeds required to support real-time applications and seamless global connectivity across diverse industries.

Optical Sensing Technologies Advancing Smart Networks

The integration of sophisticated sensors into the global fiber optic footprint is turning passive cables into an active, intelligent nervous system. These optical sensing technologies provide real-time monitoring of physical environments, enhancing the security and efficiency of smart networks while offering a scalable solution for modern telecom infrastructure health.

High Speed Data Centers Leveraging Optical Interconnects

The rapid expansion of cloud computing and artificial intelligence has pushed traditional data center architectures to their physical limits. By replacing copper-based connections with high-performance optical interconnects, modern facilities are achieving the throughput and efficiency required to handle massive workloads while maintaining the scalability necessary for future enterprise IT growth.

StarHub and NeutraDC, Telkom Indonesia’s data center arm, have gone ahead and announced a Memorandum of Understanding – MOU in order to deepen the collaboration for the rollout of quantum-safe connectivity solutions, which includes the likes of quantum-resistant encryption, post-quantum cryptography as and next-generation secure network infrastructure, and also elevate the digital services ecosystem within the region.

The partnership goes on to integrate the Low-Latency Data Centre Connect solution of StarHub with NeutraDC’s carrier-neutral data center ecosystem that serves a growing community of enterprise as well as hyperscale customers throughout Indonesia and Singapore.

Together, the companies look forward to delivering faster, more secure, and more reliable cross-border data exchange, therefore empowering the businesses to scale and function with greater flexibility in the digital economy.

As part of the partnership, StarHub is going to establish a Point of Presence – PoP at NeutraDC SNG-3 in Singapore. This will go ahead and integrate the Low-Latency Data Centre Connect solution of StarHub into the digital infrastructure network of

NeutraDC hence enables enterprises to enjoy low-latency interconnectivity between data centers and cloud platforms as well as business applications that are mission-critical.

The collaboration also goes on to support the ongoing role of Singapore as a regional digital hub, offering enterprises effortless and safe as well as efficient access to data resources throughout Southeast Asia.

In the always-on digital economy of today, enterprises go on to depend on high-performance data exchange that takes place between many data centers and cloud platforms, along with applications. The Low-Latency Data Centre Connect solution from

StarHub goes ahead and delivers ultra-low-latency interconnect in Singapore, featuring a sub-1 millisecond path to cable landing stations – CLS for a very easy regional reach.

Quantum-safe connectivity is majorly applied to replace the present encryption standards so as to reduce the evolving security threats that may arise in the future. This collaboration between StarHub and

NeutraDC is indeed going to pave the way for massive adoption of quantum encrypted connectivity.

By way of the PoP at NeutraDC SNG-3, customers can benefit from direct CLS connectivity offering a complete DC-CLS-subsea cable route for end-to-end regional access and software-defined networking – SDN capacities such as network slicing and multi-tenancy portals, as well as bandwidth-on-demand to dynamically scale with the data-intensive workloads. Quantum-safe encryption goes on to incorporate post-quantum cryptography for future-proof data protection as well as service orchestration for faster service provisioning as well as enhanced network flexibility.

The collaboration with NeutraDC extends the growing network of alliances of StarHub with leading data center operators as part of the broader strategy of the latter to extend its Low-Latency Data Center Connect footprint throughout Southeast Asia – hence helping the enterprises to connect and scale, as well as innovate with low-latency, quantum-secure, and also cloud-ready interconnectivity solutions in order to power the next generation of digital enterprises.
