Partnership Targets Commercial Network-Based Voice AI
As part of the collaboration, LG Uplus and Ericsson will jointly develop network-based voice AI technologies, integrate AI systems into telecom networks, design AI-native network architectures and conduct technical validation across multiple cloud platforms. The companies also plan to expand the global commercialisation of voice AI solutions, moving beyond technology development towards real-world telecom deployments.
The partnership brings together LG Uplus’ operational experience from its AI calling service, ixi-O, with Ericsson’s global network technology capabilities. Both companies expect to complete technical verification by the end of the year before introducing commercial services powered by AI-native network infrastructure.
Network-Based Voice AI Expands Intelligent Telecom Services
Unlike conventional AI assistants that rely primarily on applications or operating systems, network-based voice AI processes intelligence within the telecommunications network itself.
