Reliance Jio Infocomm and telecom tower company Tower Vision India have entered into a master service agreement for tower sharing. Tower Vision has a portfolio of 8,400 telecom towers in India.

Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, holds a pan-India unified licence. With this agreement, the company would utilise the telecom tower infrastructure of Tower Vision to launch its services across the country.

“We are committed to offering our customers wide coverage of high speed 4G networks. As a consequence, we are continuing to build this through a combination of telecom towers that we are constructing on our own and those that we are renting from quality tower infrastructure partners. Our partnership with Tower Vision is another step in this direction,” Sanjay Mashruwala, managing director, Reliance Jio said.

“Through partnering with Tower Vision India, Reliance Jio gains access to carefully selected sites, covering strategic locations where data customers today require uninterrupted high speed wireless coverage,” said Tower Vision’s chairman Amit Ganani.

Reliance Jio Infocomm and ATC India Tower Corporation inked an agreement in April 2014 under which the former would use tower infrastructure of the latter to launch its telecom services across the country. ATC has 11,000 telecom towers in India.

Reliance Jio also has an agreement with Viom Networks for their 42,000 telecom towers and an agreement with Bharti Airtel for a comprehensive sharing of telecom infrastructure created by both parties to avoid duplication of infrastructure wherever possible.
