NetIX, the leading global distributed platform for award-winning connectivity and peering solutions, has proudly announced today the monumental achievement of surpassing 3 Tbps of traffic across its network.

At the start of 2024, NetIX’s network had only just broken the 2 Tbps barrier; within five months, the award-winning IXP has added a further 1 Tbps to its record, earning it a place as the 13th biggest IXP based on traffic, and achieving the title of the fastest growing Internet Exchange in the world.

“We are thrilled to reach this significant milestone of 3Tbps of traffic on our global platform,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity Services at NetIX. “This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering top-tier connectivity and value to our members.”

Joining the esteemed “3Tb club,” NetIX continues to solidify its position as a key player in the Internet Exchange landscape. With its expansive network across more than 220 data centres in 100 cities, and robust infrastructure, NetIX empowers networks to enhance performance while lowering operational costs.

NetIX’s innovative platform seamlessly integrates more than 35 Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) worldwide, offering members unparalleled connectivity and cost-effective solutions. By aggregating diverse IXPs, NetIX ensures that its members receive optimal performance with lowered latency and improved connectivity.

This exciting new milestone comes after a period of significant growth for the company. Neterra – NetIX’s parent company – made a series of additions, improvements and upgrades to its network in the first four months of 2024 by adding a new 100Gb route between Marseille and Milan, doubling its capacity between Madrid and Frankfurt to 200Gb, and is currently adding a further 200G between Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Moreover, In April, the first physical on-net location in the Asia Pacific region was added; customers can now directly access Singapore from anywhere on the Neterra and NetIX network, and companies in Singapore are now able to access and benefit from the full portfolio of services.

“We invite networks to conduct a free test of our Global Internet Exchange and experience the benefits of our platform,” added Neven Dilkov, founder and CEO of Neterra and its group of companies. “By leveraging NetIX’s services, networks can greatly improve their performance and achieve significant cost savings.”
