Imation Mobile Security has outlined ambitious growth plans to boost the revenue that the data protection products deliver alongside the storage lines the main group is so well known for.

Speaking to MicroScope just days after it launched a partner programme to reward and attract resellers selling its range of data encrypted portable storage products and services the vendor shared its roadmap.
Nick Banks, director of sales EMEA and APAC for Imation Mobile Security, said that security currently accounted for around 25% of revenues but the aim was to grow this to 50% in the next three years.
“It is a scalable part of the business and over the next three years we hope to double it,” he said.
The Mobile Security operation was established in March and has grown rapidly fueled by three acquisitions including most recently the security storage division of IronKey.
Banks said that there was a desperate need from customers in help securing mobile users and with data loss continuing to hit the headlines the opportunities for partners continued to grow.
