Oppo, Vodafone ink global partnership to drive 5G adoption

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo said it has entered into a partnership agreement with telecom operator Vodafone and will now bring its smartphone portfolio to Vodafone’s European markets starting from May 2020.

“The collaboration between the two companies will give consumers more choice and accelerate 5G adoption across Vodafone’s international markets,” commented the smartphone maker on the partnership.

The range of Oppo products that will be made available across Vodafone’s retail and online outlets includes–Oppo’s value-for-money handsets to flagship 5G smartphone series, including its A series, Reno series and Find X series.

In the first phase of this partnership, Vodafone will launch Oppo products across its retail outlets in Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Turkey and the Netherlands.

“OPPO is confident that our industry-leading products and technologies will enable Vodafone to win new opportunities in the 5G era,” said Alen Wu, Vice President and President of Global Sales, Oppo.

Wu concluded that the smartphone maker seeks to create a long-term relationship with Vodafoen to create a better future for its customers in the 5G era.

“The combination of OPPO’s state-of-the-art devices and Vodafone’s leading network will give our customers greater choice with the full potential of 5G,” commented Ahmed Essam, Vodafone Group Chief Commercial Operations and Strategy Officer.

Essam concluded that the telco’s partnership with Oppo will synergize its growing strength in 5G across its markets in Europe and beyond.
