Photonics Packaging Advancing Telecom Device Efficiency

The evolution of high-speed telecommunications is increasingly dependent on the physical housing and interconnection of optical components. Advanced packaging techniques are now central to achieving the compact integration and thermal stability required for the next generation of global networks, ensuring that signal performance remains optimal as device density increases.

Quantum Secure Networks Strengthening Digital Connectivity

The rise of quantum computing poses a significant threat to traditional cryptographic methods, necessitating a shift toward more resilient security frameworks. Quantum secure networks are emerging as the solution, utilizing the principles of physics to create unhackable communication channels that strengthen digital connectivity and protect critical telecom data systems for a future-proof society.

Smart Broadband Infrastructure Supporting Digital Expansion

The global demand for high-speed internet is no longer just about entertainment; it is a foundational requirement for economic growth and social inclusion. Smart broadband infrastructure provides the scalable and resilient foundation needed to support digital expansion, ensuring that modern telecom growth reaches every corner of the globe with faster and more reliable connectivity solutions.

CellMax Technologies won the Swedish Telecom Award in the category ‘Technology supplier of he year’ for its innovative antennas that improve network performance.

Swedish antenna specialist CellMax Technologies won the Sweden Telecom Award last night in the category “Technology supplier of the year”. In competition with Samsung, Ericsson, Huawei and Telepo, CellMax Technologies was named “Technology supplier of the year” for its ultra-high efficient base station antennas that help mobile operators cope with the data explosion in their networks.

The Telecom Awards are handed out in seven different categories every year. The awards are organized by telecom newsletter Telekomnyheterna and Exakt Media.

CellMax Technologies develops and markets advanced ultra-high efficiency antennas for the global telecommunications market. CellMax antennas feature an innovative design that gives users – the world’s mobile operators – a higher signal strength, better coverage and increased traffic – with the same energy consumption as traditional antennas.

”We are proud to receive this prestigious award for our advanced and proven antenna technology and products,” said Torbjörn Kämpe, CEO, CellMax Technolgies. “The jury consisted of highly acclaimed experts who can accurately spot and predict future trends, and who know what will be required by technology suppliers now and in the future. Our efficient, energy-saving and high-performance antennas will be invaluable for mobile operators in their quest to manage the dramatic increase in network traffic that smartphones and other new devices and applications bring.”

The Telecom Award is the latest in a string of industry awards and nominations that CellMax Technologies has received in the past 12 months; in November, CellMax was named one of Sweden’s and Europe’s fastest growing technology companies, for the third year running (the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA). In October, CellMax Technologies received a nomination for an LTE North America Award, and was also nominated for the Swedish Export Award as one of the most successful Swedish export companies of the past few years. Also in October, the company was nominated for the Swedish mobile company of the year award. Earlier in 2012, CellMax was nominated for an LTE Award recognising achievements made by companies in the LTE industry.

About CellMax Technologies:

CellMax Technologies develops and markets ultra-high efficiency base station antennas for mobile networks. CellMax’s revolutionary antenna technology reduces the power losses within the antenna to close to zero, resulting in higher signal strength and a dramatic increase in geographical area coverage, improved indoor penetration, increased net traffic, improved data throughput and reduced production costs per call.

CellMax’s unique and patented antenna design is based on quasi waveguide technology with air as dielectric, which virtually eliminates power losses; Traditional antennas lose 20-60 percent power through the cables. With CellMax’s antennas, mobile operators can reduce the power consumption in their radio networks by up to 30 percent – or use the same amount of power to improve network performance.

Consumers benefit from a dramatic improvement of indoor coverage, radically improved data speed and capacity, fewer dropped calls, a significant improvement of battery power consumption in the handsets, etc.

CellMax’s customers include several of the world’s largest mobile operators and manufacturers of telecom equipment (e.g. T-Mobile, Huawei, Hutchison, NSN, and ZTE). CellMax antennas have been deployed all over the world and are in use on all six inhabited continents in the world. CellMax was founded in 2001 and has headquarters in Sweden with subsidiaries in the USA and Singapore.
