ZTE Corporation , a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, unveils the 5G-Ready 4MIX On Demand Distributed Cloud Infrastructure solution at the OpenStack Summit in Berlin, Germany. It aims at achieving the optimal matching of user experience and cost control, to help telcos accelerate the large-scale 5G launching.
Based on the 3-layer distributed deployment architecture of “Access Cloud + Edge Cloud + Center Cloud”, the solution can provide the 5G-oriented, full-scenario deployment, to build an energy-saving, high-performance, flexible, and secure network.
ZTE’s 5G-Ready 4MIX On Demand Distributed Cloud Infrastructure solution leverages multiple advanced technologies. Above all, the high-performance resource pool adopts a combination of hardware acceleration technologies, such as FPGA-based SmartNIC, and GPU, as well as an unified capability enabler, to flexibly provide upper layer applications with various acceleration capabilities.
ZTE’s 5G-Ready 4MIX On Demand Distributed Cloud Infrastructure solution also provides a mixed deployment mode on cloud management system to fulfill the diversified requirement from distributed cloud infrastructure architecture, including full-set deployment, light-weight deployment based on management scale, and cell mode deployment.
Furthermore, “OpenStack + Kubernetes” dual-core-driven cloud platform can achieve the unified computer/storage/network management framework and on-demand mixed scheduling of virtual machines (VM) ,bare metal and container resources.
In addition, the mixed O&M mode based on remote control, AI and other technologies, is capable of achieving unmanned operation at the network edge, and constructing the end-to-end closed-loop automated O&M in the whole network.
Zhang Dawei, the Director of International Virtualization Market, ZTE, said, “To provide better 5G services, telecom network cloudification has become the consensus of global telcos. New challenges and problems keep emerging along with the development of NFV and 5G launching. In order to drive the maturity of the 5G network, telecom cloud infrastructure needs further transformation in deployment architecture, network performance and O&M convenience.”
As the world’s leading provider of integrated communication solutions, ZTE is committed to building up 5G core technology capabilities and has collaborated with the world’s leading operators. ZTE will continue to increase investment in R&D, and promote the commercialization of advanced technologies, so as to create an open and win-win industrial ecosystem.
